Guhyeswari Shaktipeeth is also known as the Pashupatinath Shaktipeeth. Devi’s two knees fell here. Here Devi is worshipped as Mahashira and Bhairav (Shiva) as Kapali. Pashupatinath Shakti Peeth is located on the banks of holy Bagmati River in Kathmandu of Nepal.
Gandaki Shaktipeeth in Nepal is also known as the Muktinath Shaktipeeth. Devi’s right cheek is said to have fallen here and she is worshipped here as Gandakichandi (the one who overcomes obstacles or Gandi) and Bhairav as Chakrapani (Holder of the Chakra).
Mithila Shaktipeeth is where Devi’s left shoulder is said to have fallen and Devi is worshipped as Uma or Mahadevi (Devi) and the Bhairav (Shiva) as Mahodara (the big belied one). This is supposed to be near Janakpur in Nepal.
